Preventive Screenings

It is safe to say that for any pet owner, one of the greatest wishes is for their beloved companion to grow up healthy and stay by their side for many years. This is truly possible because modern veterinary medicine offers extensive opportunities to easily care for a pet’s health preventively—which is the foundation of a long and high-quality life for your pet.

At “Siaurio Šnauceris” veterinary clinics, we have developed and implemented preventive screening programs for both puppies and kittens, and we recommend performing them once a year.

As an animal reaches a certain age, and taking into account past illnesses or genetic predispositions based on breed, we recommend specific tests. These help us detect diseases early, react proactively, and successfully overcome them in the initial stages. For example:

UPC and SDMA tests help identify early-stage kidney failure.

PSA tests for dogs help detect prostate cancer, which frequently occurs in intact (un-neutered) dogs over 5 years old.

Biochemical and morphological blood tests, though seemingly simple, are highly informative and allow us to spot potential issues before symptoms appear.

All these and many other diagnostic tools are included in our annual preventive screening programs. Our clinics are equipped with the most modern capabilities for early diagnosis. All it takes is the habit of bringing your pet in for regular check-ups, because preventive screenings are the path to a healthy and long life for your beloved companion.
