Aia’s Story – Stroke
This is a story about perseverance, great willpower, faith, and trust.
A 11-year-old Alaskan Malamute named Aisha is already of a respectable age. Our acquaintance began back in the summer, when, due to ineffective treatment at another clinic, the owner did not give up, searched for alternatives, and came to our clinic for help with a poorly feeling pet. A week ago, Aisha possibly suffered a stroke, which caused uncoordinated walking, her head tilted to one side, nystagmus (involuntary eye movements), general weakness, lethargy, and weakness in her hind legs, preventing her from even standing. After assessing her condition, we started symptomatic treatment, while the owner actively engaged in physiotherapy with the pet, specially taking her for swimming sessions. Thanks to these joint efforts, Aisha started to improve, and after a while, she even began to run! But after a few months, she suffered another stroke – the same symptoms again, and Aisha could no longer walk. This time, appropriate urgent assistance was provided immediately, so Aisha is now recovering, getting stronger, and walking.
Sometimes a pet’s age is not an obstacle to overcoming serious illnesses when there is a loving and determined owner by their side. And together, we can achieve excellent treatment results! Thank you for trusting us!
