Abdominal ultrasound examinations
Ultrasound (ultrasonography) in modern veterinary medicine provides a massive advantage in diagnosing ailments of internal organs (liver, gallbladder, pancreas, kidneys, bladder) and in pregnancy monitoring. During the examination, we can evaluate the positioning of the organs, their condition, potential pathologies, masses, blood flow within those masses, size, and more.
Ultrasound examinations are particularly significant for determining and monitoring pregnancy, as well as for diagnosing conditions in hollow organs (such as pyometra or bladder stones) and even detecting cancerous diseases. If a potentially cancerous mass is found, we can perform a biopsy during the ultrasound; the sample is then sent to a pathologist for a precise diagnosis. At our clinic, we use the most modern equipment, and the procedure is minimally invasive and painless for the pet.
For senior pets, where the probability of pathologies increases due to age, we recommend a routine ultrasound once a year. This helps us detect or prevent internal organ cysts and tumors, bladder stones, and other issues in a timely manner.
Prevention is the key to a comfortable and long life for our beloved pets!
